O'Fallon, MO Area Guide
The town was established by Arnold Krekel, a German immigrant who purchased land here that is today downtown O’Fallon. Krekel never actually lived on the land, but in 1854 he granted the North Missouri Railroad permission to construct a railroad through the property. Krekel planned the layout of the town in 1855, and the following year Krekel’s younger brother built the first residence and store in O’Fallon (the store is still standing). In 1857, Krekel’s brother went on to become the town’s first postmaster and station master of the O’Fallon depot and created the first park here, named Civic Park. In 1912 O’Fallon became an official city; the railroad still runs on its original layout to this day. For more information about O’Fallon, please visit the official website here

Located west of St. Louis County, O’Fallon has over 76,000 residents and is part of St. Charles County. The town is 30 square miles total and continues to grow rapidly as the economy expands. In July 2006, O’Fallon was recognized as a “Best Place to Live” by Money Magazine.
